Introduction
Today, data is almost everything. We consume a lot of data, and we produce a lot of data. When consuming data we're retrieving it from somewhere. When producing it, we're storing it somewhere. We use Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) and more recently Solid State Drives (SSDs) to store and retrieve that data. A lot of it. Google alone is dealing with petabytes of data spread across millions of disks all over the globe.
In this section we'll explore the types the disks you'll read about and maybe even see in the wild. We'll look at their speeds, use cases, adnd more.
